Dolly’s Butterfly

Inspired by Dolly Parton and her western and sparkly aesthetic. Research on Dolly's aesthetic and anatomy of butterflies greatly influenced the textures in the materials. This collection features four different leathers, two sequin fabrics, one burnout velvet, and a shear beaded fabric. 

 During design development, a large butterfly anatomy design was created on muslin and paper and those were draped on the form. The lines on the muslin and paper became seams on the garments. Additionally, many of Dolly's looks cover her arms and legs while still showcasing her figure and that element is included in the designs.
